Another year has dawned in this human endeavour. My hopes, dreams, and aspirations remain as clear as ever. The blockades, obstacles, and barriers are many. But the true leader in me must not succumb to any. In this journey, I’ve come a long way. But the way before me is still very long. Happy birthday to me – Author Unknown.
As another birthday arrives, it is a moment to pause and reflect on the journey travelled thus far – a journey marked by the boundless mercy of God and the countless blessings bestowed along the way. Each passing year is a testament to His grace, guiding me through the ups and downs of life and illuminating the path forward with hope and faith.
Today is a time of personal reflection. It is time to look back and count the blessings. The hymn – “When Upon Life’s Billows You Are Tempest Tossed” – is one of my favourites. I love singing it as loudly as I can. I love the chorus: “Count your blessings, name them one by one; Count your blessings, see what God hath done; Count your blessings, name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.”
As I celebrate the gift of another year, it is an opportunity to embrace gratitude for the past and anticipation for the future. Looking back on the milestones and memories accumulated over the years, I appreciate God’s unwavering presence and provision. His mercy has sustained me through many challenges, lifted me in moments of despair, and rejoiced in times of triumph.
Every experience — both joyful and challenging — has shaped me into the person I am today. They have imbued me with resilience, compassion, and wisdom.
As I acknowledge God’s mercy on this day, I am grateful for His unfailing love and guidance. With each birthday comes the promise of a brighter future — filled with possibility, opportunity, and purpose. It is a time to set intentions, dreams, and aspirations for the year ahead, trusting in God’s plan and provision to lead me forward.
As I look ahead with hope and anticipation, I am reminded of the words of the scriptures in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” With this assurance, I confidently step into the next chapter of my life, knowing that God’s mercies are new every morning.

The warmth of family and friends surrounds me and makes me more appreciative. I cherish the significance of community and the connections in my life.
